Wow what a great DVD! Thank you for creating it. I went out and found anise, mallow, wild mustard, sow thistle, miner's lettuce, plantain, and wild onion. All on my property. I also have pine trees, and though it wasn't featured, I discovered mint growing near my creek. It inspired me to do more research, and I have since also found milk thistle and bluedicks. Native Californians used to eat the corms of bluedicks. This is a great starting point for anyone interesting in learning more about wild foods!

I love doing that plantain test by the way. Thanks again for a great DVD.

Holy garbanzo beans batman. After 15 minutes of the two women dithering I had to turn it off. I had high expectations for this movie and the topic to be covered. When I watched the two of them just describe hemlock instead of showing it i knew i would be better off on my own with an Army field manual (they have pictures). If you can stomach to watch more than 20 minutes of these ladies you're up for sainthood. They seem way to flighty to ask for the time of day let alone what is poison and what is edible. Spoiler Alert: this movie is a waste of money.

Home and Garden TV on line (http://www.hgtv.com) has all sorts of different ideas for home-made water features, and they tell you how to make them. They even have a “portable” one you can make and take apart to take with you if you move. Go to the website above, click on Gardening, type in “water features” in the search box and click. It comes up with lots of neat stuff!!

I have seen several water bogs. these are areas that have rocks with a liner of some sort like a trap with no holes under the rocks. dig a small square, round,rectangle area, just deep enough that you can place the rocks down and then fill the liner up with water.The water can be over the rocks or just to the side of them. Just depends on what effect you are looking for. If you are wanting a higher layer effect do the same procedure but get rocks you can stack on top of one another and purchase a pump and hose the length of the height to your pile.All of my rocks I have gotten by walking county line roads or dirt roads. Visit a rock quarry too can get you some really neat rocks as well. Draw up what you want your rock fountain to look like and then go hunting for your rocks. If you have a family make it an outting and have fun with it. Good Luck!!!

These filters works perfectly -- our water is "city water" but it tastes... well it doesn't taste like pure clean water.

However, after installing this filter system (pretty easy) and drinking filtered water we can definitely notice the difference. It's a pleasure to drink this water, and not have to spend more money on bottled water from somewhere else. (Think about it, isn't it silly that people drive to the store, pick up a pack of water that's been driven cross country (or around the globe) from somewhere else, when there's a pipe bringing it to your house for pennies?

I don't know if we're saving any money (have to replace these once every 6 months), but there's definitely satisfaction in drinking purified water that we didn't have to take from some other part of the world.

We've had this unit for over a year now - it has several advantages over other past units we've owned, the biggest being you don't need extra valves installed to turn the water off to the filter before changing it! Changing the filter is a snap, literally, even I can do it, and it only takes about two minutes from opening the box to putting the old ones in the trash. Put it in an accessable place, we use about two filter sets a year. The water quality is clean, clear and has no chemical taste that I've noticed.
