Nokia has taken the market by awe with its debut of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Targetted at young people (and also the young at heart), it is a fully featured multimedia cell phone.

One feature which we can’t help but comment on would be its 3.2 megapixel camera with dual LED flash component. To complement the high powered imaging function, it comes with a multi featured photo editor which allows you to add in text and apply effect on the fly and send it to your loved ones within a minute so that they get to share the special moment with you even though they may be elsewhere!

As a touch screen phone, the 5800 XpressMusic is perhaps Nokia’s response to the iPhone, bringing in a phone with a much better camera and for a much lower price. The 5800′s camera is a 3.2MP one equipped with the same lens all the top Nokia phones have – manufactured by Carl Zeiss. The camera comes with auto focus and is assisted by its bright LED flash. Aptly named XpressMusic, the Nokia 5800 features a very loud speaker for any phone. Wi-Fi is becoming increasingly important to many users since there is a much better availability of it worldwide, and the 5800 fills this spot nicely. Finally, GPS is included so you can tell where you are using Nokia maps, or use the wide variety of Google applications to let your know where you are (or also where they are), or to navigate your way to the next gig.

On the software front, the 5800 has adopted a touch screen version of the Symbian operating system that its siblings use – S60. This is a highly versatile operating system used on the very popular N-Series phones and, as such, there is a plethora of applications available for it all over the internet for pretty much anything you could want to do with it.

In addition, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic empowers you by supporting email attachments, hereby enhancing communication options between you and your family, friends and associates. The ability to support email attachments changes the face of email communication via the simple cell phone.

The music player supports mainstream music formats in MP3, AAC, eAAC and WMA. Whether you’re into the constant sound of tunes in your ears, the ability to record you life and save it effortlessly, or keeping a traveling relative in touch with daily events, the Nokia 5800 is the multimedia gadget of choice. For a low price point compare to many phones offering similar features, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic proves to be an attractive buy.
